Groom Shines Once Again (4.5 Stars)

For this assignment I went through the creative process in obscure order. I wanted to make it fun but not corny. I wonder if I pulled it off.The one thing I knew for sure was that I was going to need Groom’s head. I went to his twitter feed and plucked a photo that I thought would stand out. I then started to think about what I could throw it in. I started looking around the internet for movies that I liked and came up with Shawshank Redemption. While I was trying to find just the right scene, Jack’s face flew off the screen at me! I have no idea why it was in that image search but I’m glad it was. I chose the iconic film to fit with the complexities of Groom himself.

So I used Adobe Photoshop for this task by incorporating multiple layers, hiding, brush painting, use of the dodge tool, the polygon lasso tool and a few other things. The most difficult part about it was getting my bearings straight on the software which I have barely used in a long time. It is very convenient that UMW’s Mac desktops have the program.
