Hitchhiker’s Guide to Noir
Here are a few ideas for a noir106 20-30 minute long radio show:
1) Noir Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy- There actually is a radio version of Hitchhiker’s Guide somewhere, that Douglas Adams worked on when he was still alive. Perhaps we could take one of the episodes and give it a noir feel? This idea, while unlikely to come to fruition, is very near and dear to my heart.
2) Noir Poetry- Write and recite our own noir based poetry? Sort of like the beatniks, but even darker.
3) Find an Old Noir Short Story- and bring it to life, much like this weeks episode of The Butterfly on ds106 radio. We could find a short story, or a chapter from a longer story, from someone like Welles or Cain. More research would definitely be required.
If this exercise has taught me anything, it’s that I am not an ‘ideas person’, and that I cannot shut up about Douglas Adams.
Anyways.
