Radio Soap Opera Idea

I have been thinking about different ideas for this radio show. At first I thought it would be really cool to have a noir musical, but then I realized that I would have to sing in the noir musical, so that is no longer an idea I like…

I kind of like the idea of doing a soap opera. I think a lot of noir concepts could easily be implemented into a soap opera. Misunderstandings, dramatic narrators, vindictive villains, all of these could be used. I think I would want someone to come back from the dead or maybe find out that a character has an evil twin. I think the overly dramatized noir genre would very easily go with the overly dramatic soap opera vibe. I imagine the show would be a lot like the old radio soap operas like The Guiding Light that were around before television. Also, I think it would be fun to incorporate fun commercials like what was in between scenes during the Maltese Falcon. This would be a way to incorporate other ideas people had.
