Week One Summary

Well, week one is complete. Boot Camp is over (hopefully). I did not know what to expect when I signed up for this class. When I received the email before classes started that this class was a lot of work, I did not want to believe it. I was hoping the professors were bluffing and I was calling their bluff. I learned very fast that they were not bluffing one bit. This really was an online boot camp. I did not have many of the accounts we had to sign up for so I was definitely busy. I wouldn’t say this class is necessarily harder than I thought it was going to be, but busier than I thought I was going to be.

As for noir, I had no clue what it was when I first got started. I was very confused when I watched the opening video of the professors with the black and white filter and the outfits they were wearing. I learned that film noir was a popular film style, primarily in the 1940’s and 50’s. I enjoyed watching all of the videos, especially the cartoon ones that were recommend. It was interesting to see a film style that used real actors and then put into a cartoon version. I’m excited for what the rest of this class has in store.
