She lives a privileged life with her husband and family, but then her husband dies in a horrible polo accident. She later finds out that he has spent all their riches gambling and is forced to relocate the family to the slums of New York where the dogs bark, the children squabble, and all she can do is imagine she is with her husband by dancing to the ballroom music in her head.
