Barbara’s ds106 Course
Week One Summary:
This was a very stressful week ! Working full-time dealing with employee relation issues, year-end reporting, and producing almost 1,000 W2’s here comes ds106! I believe this course was a little more stressful than work was this week! I believe it was the fear of the unknown and entering into an area which is out of my comfort zone. Wait maybe way out of my zone!
I began my week right away reading and clicking on every link I could in order to see what it led to. Then I started on viewing the videos and podcasts and listened with care. The processes started to fall into place as I began to register and set-up noir106.us, Twitter, my own domain (really my own domain!), adding word press and then more registrations to Flickr, YouTube, and Sound Cloud. This all took some time but I spent time each evening setting them up one by one! I took more time and set up profiles, added pictures, and created my avatar!
I can’t even count the documents I have read, videos I watched, and researching everywhere and anywhere for information. I even watched Bugs Bunny cartoons which I haven’t seen in a long time. By the way loved the three of you in your video! Great job M Burtis keeping the guys in line and on task! All of it was very helpful.
I’ve learned so much already just in one week. Let me share some of what I have done this week – I think this is like building a house – if you miss one brick in the process the entire house will come crashing down. Noir to me is very bleak, dark and sultry. It is more the tone and the mood like someone is just sitting and thinking but yet you know what is going on. Darkness, crime, corruption all with a strong feeling of fear and of course there are always woman involved somewhere down the line. I think of an old cartoon movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”
