DS106 Week 1
This week I kicked off my journey into ds106 where we will be investigating the theme of noir in film and other media. I started off by setting up my blog site with wordpress so that I can write these posts. Then I set up accounts on Flickr, Soundcloud, and prepped my YouTube and Twitter accounts for ds106 use. After introducing myself to the ds106 world on social media, I started my investigation of noir. I watched some Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny, rewatched The Dark Knight and Sin City, and even dabbled in some Pretty Little Liar’s. Slowly I have been wrapping my head around the concept of noir- dark-themed media often centered around crimes or mysteries and sometimes involving private eyes and sexual motivations.
The only aspect of the week that I had a bit of a problem with was registering my blog on the main ds106 site- I hope I did it right! Setting up the social media accounts and delving into noir was time-consuming but rewarding. I can’t wait to see what next week has in store for me!
